Oomou was launched in 2025 by three entrepreneurs who had vastly improved their workplace social skills over a number of years so they could grow and attain success in their respective fields.

Oscar Venhuis and Martin Miller live and work in Hong Kong and have a passion for the city and its mighty business sphere. Matt Fleming used to live in Hong Kong but still works remotely in the city — and shares this passion wholeheartedly.

After reading about the widening gap between those who have excellent interpersonal skills and those who are significantly lacking, the trio decided to develop the Social Skills Simulator to help as many workers and leaders in the city to be the best they can be.

It has been a long journey to get to this point but with the help of industry experts, social skills practitioners and AI specialists, we have developed a tool that we believe will change the game for those who want to become more socially effective, dynamic and confident.

  • Oscar Venhuis

    Oscar Venhuis

    CEO

    Oscar Venhuis is a serial entrepreneur with a proven track record and over 20 years of experience in product management and business development across the APAC and EU regions.

    As a leader in the EdTech space, he has been instrumental in developing the DOHE learning materials and the leadership development courses for EQ Lab. In addition, Oscar served as the lead instructor for General Assembly in the APAC region and is a visiting professor at Zhejiang Wanli University in China, where he imparts his knowledge of AI and design.

    Throughout his career, he has collaborated with industry leaders such as Nike, Star Wars, IDEO, and Uber, continually pushing the boundaries of innovation and education.

    Matt, a journalist, editor and AI event organiser and based in the UK, lives and breathes content. With more than 25 years of experience in journalism, marketing, international media and content creation and strategy behind him, he is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of marketing and content talent.

    Matt previously lived and worked in China as Editorial Director (Asia) for Time Out International, has organised a string of successful major events over the past few years, including in AI, and he constantly updates his thinking and methods to reflect current tech.

    Matt is a seasoned public speaker and workshop host. He has worked on his social skills for many years — and has helped others to improve theirs in Europe and Asia. He adores honing interpersonal skills as much as he loves crafting stories, spearheading successful marketing campaigns and all things content.

  • Martin Miller

    Martin Miller (Phd.)

    CTO

    Dr. Martin Miller is the Chief Technology Officer at Oomou, where he leads innovations in AI and research.

    With millions seeking to enhance their skills in a rapidly changing tech landscape, Martin has developed multi-agent generative AI systems that authentically capture responses from the Hong Kong community.

    In 2024, he secured three grants from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council to fund projects focused on generative AI and community assessment prototypes.

    His expertise also extends to creating LangGraph workflows for effective enterprise behavioural assessments.
